Fundraising For METAvivor

METAvivor Research & Support, Inc., an organization that uses 100% of donations for metastatic breast cancer (MBC) research. METAvivor is volunteer led and run primarily by people living with MBC. Metastatic breast cancer or stage IV breast cancer is the spread of breast cancer to non-adjacent body parts, most commonly the bones, liver, lungs, and/or brain.

The event dedicated to the memory of Jennifer Hendryx, who in 2017, died from metastatic breast cancer. She was an advocate for victims of metastatic disease, a peer to peer group leader for the Cleveland area, and an ardent supporter and fund-raiser for METAvivor (https://Metavivor.org).

The job of a lifetime, motherhood. A woman sacrifices a lot to bring a child into this world, but how are some of them rewarded. With breast cancer! Men, what have we sacrificed to bring a child into this world? The incidence of metastatic (stage 4) breast cancer in women ages 25 to 39 has doubled in recent decades. The diagnosis often happens during or after pregnancy, leaving young mothers with a terminal illness and life expectancy of only 2-3 years.
